An excursion to the beach is almost an expectation on your visit to Seaside, Oregon. Though you can’t go wrong with sliding on your sandals and making the short trek from The Seashore Inn on the Beach to the ever-popular Seaside Beach or nearby Gearhart Beach, you may be looking for something a bit more remote and private. Luckily for you, there is no shortage of coastline in Oregon, and odds are there is a beach that fits your personal criteria. Below are our top three secluded beaches to drop by on your next visit!
Short Sand Beach
The furthest beach away on our list, Short Sand Beach might just be the most secluded beach of them all. Just under a half-hour drive, Short Sand is a nice recluse away from the crowded beaches that sit a bit closer to Seaside. A short hike through a forested area will lead you directly to an enclosed cove where the beach sits protected from the wind. You’ll soon notice there is a shortage of visitors and an excess of beach space as well as incredible waves perfectly suited for surfers. The scenery won’t disappoint either!
Sunset Beach State Recreational Site
Fifteen miles in the opposite direction is Sunset Beach State Recreational Site. Though this beach is not exactly hidden, it offers unique experiences compared to other beaches along the coast. Possibly the most fun aspect featured is the ability to drive your vehicle on the beach—legally! This offering differentiates itself from not only other Oregon coast beaches but most other beaches across the country! Pack the car with friends and family as well as some firewood and have your own bonfire to wrap up an adventure-filled day!
Tolovana Beach Wayside
With fewer crowds than both Seaside and Cannon Beach, Tolovana Beach Wayside is an excellent in-between stop if you’re looking for some seclusion. This beach boasts an ample amount of amenities, including a public restroom, easy parking, and proximity to many nearby restaurants, all within a short walk. Binoculars can provide a unique glimpse of the terrain, including stunning views of both Haystack Rock and Tillamook Rock Lighthouse.
Beaches Galore near The Seashore Inn

If you’re looking for smaller crowds and secluded beaches, you won’t be disappointed by a stop at any of the above destinations. However, Oregon is chock-full of alluring beaches, and if you want to be right in the heart of many iconic Oregon Coast beaches, then plan your stay at The Seashore Inn on the Beach. Make sure to contact us if you have any other questions that arise during your planning process.
